★ about ★ interests ★
i’m a slapdash and scattered person, so it follows that my posts are all over the place too.
i’m trying to learn about writing, language, irish literature, early christianity and mysticism, and photography. i do only a little of anything at a time, because i get worn out easily. i’m fickle with a wobbly brain!
i’m also a hermit at heart, so i’m bad at conversing. talking is one thing: unfortunately, i can’t seem to stop doing that! but i am no good at one-on-one—as much as i wish that i were.
i chatter a lot about my opinions on literature, on fandom as a hobby sphere, and sometimes, about the both of them and how they do or don’t relate to each other. that said, i’m typically not looking to discourse or argue or wank when i tweet my chatter. it’s okay if we hate one another’s opinions, lmao.
i’m particularly interested in fiction about pain, both physical and emotional. some of the themes which really appeal to me are:
religious trauma, sacrilege, guilt, shame, self-loathing, grief and prolonged mourning, emotional repression and over-expression, codependency, love as a mind-altering substance, love as a higher power, grappling with failure, and unpalatable ways of dealing (or not dealing!) with trauma.
i like rhyming poetry, vignettes, and shoegaze. i’m more interested in short fiction and non-fiction than i am in novels. i do stupid navel-gazing in excess but bro i am also just here Posting. i punctuate most colloquial talk with “lol” and “lmao”. and i’m just trying to get by!
※ i use twitter blockchains a LOT.
i'm sorry if i've caught you in some friendly fire!
※ i do not care what people ship, fiction isn't morality, etc.
please do not engage with me if you feel that fiction has the same moral weight as the experiences of a real live human being.
i’m uncomfortable with this view as i find it disparages my own experiences as a survivor of CSA and CSEM.
if you utilize terms like “pedophilia” or “CP” to discuss fictional themes, i don’t want to spend any time with you!
i'm a scatterbrain!
maybe i will make proper use of this at some point. or maybe it will just remain a sudden and disoriented collection of a few things i like in a few of my areas of interest. lmao
